Older articles about "hardware accelerators in Shenzhen" list programs that have since moved or gone quiet. Here's the picture from organizers' own sites in September 2026.

First, what's an accelerator?

  • An accelerator is a fixed-length program (often 3–6 months) that usually invests money for a share of your company (equity) and gives mentoring, workspace and supplier connections.
  • An incubator is usually longer-term, and offers space, facilities and support, sometimes with investment.

Active around Shenzhen

XbotPark (松山湖 XbotPark 机器人基地), Songshan Lake, Dongguan A robotics and smart-hardware incubator founded by Prof. Li Zexiang of HKUST, with offices, labs and prototyping facilities. It's associated with well-known robotics companies, and it's active in 2026 press coverage. Applications go through its website.

Shenzhen Foundry A founder-led accelerator for AI and smart-hardware startups, with published tracks for building an MVP and scaling to commercial production in Shenzhen. Investment terms and cohort dates aren't published; apply via its website.

TroubleMaker's Conquer! accelerator program Run from its Huaqiangbei makerspace, combined with memberships and manufacturing training.

Nearby, but not in Shenzhen

Brinc has a Hong Kong hub (plus many other countries), but its site lists no Shenzhen or mainland program.

Moved or dormant

  • HAX (SOSV), long the best-known Shenzhen hardware accelerator, now lists Newark and Princeton, New Jersey and San Francisco/New York, with no Shenzhen location. It publishes an initial investment of $550K.
  • x.factory (Seeed): no official site found, and its forum was last active in 2024.

Choosing one

  • Want investment + a network? Compare terms carefully: equity, amount, duration, and what "access to factories" really means.
  • Robotics? Look at XbotPark.
  • Just need a workshop and guidance? A makerspace membership may be enough and costs no equity.
