Himax Electronics is a battery pack maker in Longgang, in north-east Shenzhen, that builds packs to order. Bring a full specification and it will build to print. Bring just an idea and its R&D team will design the cell configuration, the BMS (the board that protects and monitors the cells), the enclosure and the charger. It says it has been doing this for close to two decades and has finished over 4,000 projects. It also sells its own HiMAXBATT batteries, and HiMASSi in Australia, where it has a sales office near Melbourne.
The range is wide: LiFePO4 packs for energy storage, telecom backup and solar street lights, Li-ion and LiPo packs for robots, drones, wearables and medical devices, plus NiMH and sodium-ion. Voltages run from 3.7 V up to 1000 V. Packs can talk to your product over Bluetooth, CAN, SMBus or RS485, show charge on an LED display or app, and be built for -40 °C discharge or +85 °C heat. One example on the site: an underwater robotics customer got Samsung cells with a 120 A BMS packed into a tight space.
The factory sorts cells to within 3 mV and 1% capacity so they age evenly, laser-welds connections, assembles BMS boards on its own SMT line and puts every pack through an aging cycle. Capacity is about 20 MWh of packs a month. Unusually, it publishes the test documents themselves on its certification page, including an IEC 62133-2 CB test report from 2025 and an IEC 62619 CB certificate for a 12.8 V 200 Ah pack. These are the safety standards for portable and industrial lithium batteries. It also helps customers with UN38.3 (the transport test every lithium battery needs before it can ship), UL, IEC and CE applications.
