About Pro QC International
Source ↗Pro QC International is a third-party quality firm that sends engineers into factories for buyers. They check the first parts off a new line, audit a supplier's systems, or count and test cartons before a container is sealed. They've been doing it out of Taiwan since 1984, and their Shenzhen company, set up in 2006 in Shekou, covers the factories of Guangdong.
The founding story is more colourful than you'd expect from an inspection company. Founder and managing director Ed Sanchez is a Colombian engineer whose early career took him through Cuba, Florida, New York and Oregon, then to building nuclear power plants in Spain. Work brought him to Taiwan in 1980, right in the middle of its industrial boom, and he saw that foreign buyers had no reliable way to check what was being made for them. He still remembers enjoying the early lighting jobs, a product he calls "creative, technical", where art, metals and UL safety rules meet. Word of mouth brought in exercise-equipment makers and the US retailer Montgomery Ward.
From there the map filled in: Tampa in 1995, Delhi in 1996, Shanghai in 2001, Shenzhen in 2006, then Bangkok, Europe, Mexico, Vietnam and Colombia. They turned 40 in 2024 and now have 800+ staff, clients in more than 100 countries and over a million jobs done. The founding aim was "not to be the biggest, but the best".
The services go a lot further than a pass/fail at the end of production. They run first-article, in-process and pre-shipment inspections, container-loading supervision, factory acceptance tests for machinery, supplier and process audits, and system audits against ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (medical devices), IATF 16949 (automotive) and AS9100 (aerospace). They also run supplier-development programmes and can place quality staff on contract. They're accredited to ISO 17020, the standard for inspection bodies, and reports come back within 24 hours through a single account manager.
Pro QC is strongest for importers and engineering-led companies making industrial, automotive, medical or electronic products in China who need more than a checklist, like a proper supplier audit before a first order, or ongoing engineering support at a critical vendor. For a very small one-off order, a self-serve booking platform may be simpler.
