About SVI Global
Source ↗SVI Global is an American-run sourcing and product-development company based in the factory belt of Chang'an, Dongguan, halfway between Shenzhen and Guangzhou. They find and audit factories, develop products with them, test samples in their own lab, supervise production and ship the goods. They work only for the client and take nothing from suppliers. There are more than 500 people across nine countries.
It began in 2003 as Seasonal Visions International, a US company making Halloween and Christmas décor for North American retailers. Founder and CEO Scott Fraistat came from retail merchandising and seasonal-goods companies such as Paper Magic Group, and moved to China to run operations himself. The Dongguan office opened in 2006. As their own supply chain matured, other companies started asking them to source and oversee their products too. That OEM work kept growing, and in 2013 Seasonal Visions became SVI Global. The testing lab opened in 2011 and gained CNAS and CPSC recognition in 2020. They added 100 staff in 2024 alone and now have teams in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia.
Their strength is running big, messy consumer-product programmes for retailers. Categories run from electronics and toys to cookware, luggage, pet supplies, sporting goods and seasonal décor, and they know the requirements of Target, Home Depot, Lowe's and Party City. The projects are impressive. An e-cigarette startup scaled to tens of millions of units a year with no missed shipments in eight years. An office-supplies brand's dedicated SVI team grew to nine merchandisers and three 3D engineers. A cookware maker won millions of dollars in annual retailer orders. "Their dedication, expertise, and hard work have kept our business on track," one client said.
Every client gets a merchandiser as a single point of contact, backed by engineers for feasibility studies, design tweaks and prototyping, plus QC inspectors and the in-house lab. SVI makes no factory investments or side deals, so negotiations serve only the buyer. Shipping can be FOB, CIF or DDP.
SVI suits brands, importers and retail suppliers, especially North American ones, running multi-SKU consumer-product programmes that need development, compliance testing and steady production across several Asian countries. Small one-off hardware prototypes aren't really their business.
