ZCMIM is a metal injection molding (MIM) factory in Dongguan's Dongcheng district. MIM works like plastic injection molding, but with fine metal powder mixed into a binder: you mold the part, burn the binder out, then sinter it into solid metal. It's the go-to process for tiny, intricate steel parts in big numbers, and it's ZCMIM's core business, from mold design to sintering and finishing under one roof.
Chairman Mr. Huang started the company in Shenzhen in 2007. Today it runs an 8,000 m² plant in Dongguan with more than 200 people, dozens of molding machines, Japanese vacuum sintering furnaces and catalytic debinding lines, and it turns out more than 100,000 parts a day. The factory company, Guangdong Dahong New Material, holds ISO 13485, the quality standard for medical devices, for MIM parts such as orthopedic guides.
Stainless steel is the house specialty: 316L, 304, 17-4 PH, 420 and 440C, plus a nickel-free stainless. They also run low-alloy steels, soft-magnetic iron-nickel and iron-cobalt alloys, titanium, Kovar and tungsten. The parts gallery shows watch and earphone parts, phone buttons and parts, surgical-instrument parts, drone-controller holders and tiny gears around 8 mm across. Their case studies get technical. For a Fe50Co magnetic part, they show why molding beats machining an expensive, brittle alloy. For an optical-instrument part, MIM's usual 0.05 mm tolerance wasn't good enough, so they molded the shape and CNC-machined the critical faces.
You send drawings through the English contact form or by email, and their engineers look at whether MIM is the right call. They'll also point you to CNC, die casting or stamping if one of those fits better. The home-page testimonials focus on engineering help. A US product specialist thanked the team for advice that "helped us a lot in revising the assembly", and once parts arrived "exactly to our specifications", a Softbank Robotics engineer in France asked for 10,000 more.
ZCMIM suits hardware teams who need small, complex metal parts, like watch and earphone parts, gears, phone parts or surgical parts, in large numbers, and who can pay for a mold up front. ZCMIM's own pages call MIM the process for small parts in mass production, so it isn't the route for a handful of one-off prototypes.
