About Tuofa CNC Machining
Source ↗Tuofa (拓发科技) is a CNC machining shop in Guanlan, in Shenzhen's Longhua district, making turned, milled and sheet-metal parts to customer drawings, from one-day prototypes to production runs. Their growth story is easiest to tell in machines: six CNC machines in a 180 m² unit when they opened in 2006, and more than 100 in a 50,000 sq ft plant today.
The company, Shenzhen Tuofa Technology Co., Ltd., started exporting in 2010 and now ships to more than 30 countries. They picked up ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (the automotive quality standard), CE and RoHS around 2015 and moved to the current Longhua factory in 2021. The CEO has 26 years in CNC. They've quoted more than 6,000 different designs, 90% of orders are repeats, and they claim 12% of the world's 500 largest companies among their customers.
The heart of the shop is turning. There are around 55 CNC automatic lathes and 22 high-speed precision lathes next to 26 milling machines, which is ideal for shafts, pins, fittings, connectors and other round parts in volume, plus 3- to 5-axis milled housings. Tolerances go down to ±0.0004 in, with 100+ materials and 40+ finishes, and every order ships with an inspection report. A good example of the work: they helped EFD, a Korean maker of optical flame detectors for oil and gas and mining, refine design details and assembly specs so its custom machined parts could go into production.
The team of 50-plus includes English-speaking sales engineers, and customers mostly talk about how easy they are to work with. "50% of our company's stainless steel parts are ordered here," said Christopher Wilson from the US, pointing to "design support and stable quality". Lukas Fischer in Germany says delivery is "always on time". Another customer put it simply: it doesn't matter "if I need 1 component or 1000". Their blog is practical too, with guides on aluminium tempers, surface-finish charts and how turned-part costs are worked out.
Tuofa suits engineers and buyers who need precision turned and milled metal parts, especially stainless and aluminium, anywhere from a few prototypes to repeat production, for robotics, automotive, medical and industrial equipment. If your project is mostly plastic molding or electronics, you'll need other partners.
