About Peakingtech
Source ↗Peakingtech is a small Shenzhen engineering and manufacturing outfit built for the people big factories tend to ignore: first-time hardware founders with a sketch, a rough prototype and a deadline. They design the electronics and the enclosure, then take the product through PCB assembly, plastic and metal parts and final assembly using a network of local factories. Builds start at five units.
The company is run by its founder, Joe, who spent years in Shenzhen supply chains, tooling shops and factory floors before setting it up. He saw a gap. Most local manufacturers are tuned for big brands and big volumes, while startups need honest design feedback, tiny quantities and a project manager who speaks English. The team has been working in Shenzhen for 15 years and has helped more than 50 startups and inventors in 10+ countries.
Their best trick is getting a product from idea to something a factory can actually make. They do industrial design, schematics and PCB layout, enclosure and mold design, and DFM reviews (checking a design can be made at a sensible cost), in a fixed-price, six-stage process that usually takes 8 to 16 weeks. The headline project is HOOBS, a smart-home hub they took from concept to a trade-show-ready product in 14 weeks. StudioBox inventor Manoj Chawa says they handled "everything from screen selection and circuit design to metal hinges and plastic molding". A Brazilian customer cut costs by 30% and deployed 100,000 units in 2025.
The ground rules are spelled out plainly. NDAs come first. You own all files, IP and tooling. Prices are fixed upfront, and every milestone needs your sign-off. Injection-mold tooling takes four to eight weeks, and by designing around Shenzhen pricing they reckon component costs come in 30–60% below Western sourcing.
Peakingtech fits inventors, crowdfunded teams and small brands who want a hands-on partner from first prototype to first production run. They say openly that they're not built for very high volumes or IPC Class 3 high-reliability assembly.
