About Agilian Technology
Source ↗Agilian Technology is a contract manufacturer in Chang'an, the Dongguan town right on the Shenzhen border. More than 300 people work in its 12,000 m² plant, which has its own tool shop, injection and silicone molding, SMT lines and box-build assembly. The big difference is who runs it. Agilian is wholly foreign-owned and foreign-managed, part of the Sofeast group, and it was set up to give Western brands "transparency, control, and peace of mind" in China.
The founders came at this from the buyer's side. Before opening Agilian in 2017 they had spent more than ten years doing inspections, audits and supplier management for importers through Sofeast, and they'd seen plenty of factories lock customers in. So they built their own. CEO Fabien Gaussorgues has run the plant day to day since 2018, after a career in engineering and operations at Airbus, Safran, Thales and Nortel. A 2026 Reuters piece (run by The Jakarta Post) put revenue at about $30 million a year, over half of it from US orders. When tariffs hit, customers pushed for production outside China, so Agilian opened a site in Penang, Malaysia, and scouted India. Dongguan is still the main base.
The sweet spot is electro-mechanical products that need several processes under one roof: IoT devices, audio and video gear, wearables, portable power stations, pet products and aromatherapy diffusers. Agilian is licensed to make medical devices and holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Over three years it designed more than 100 products from scratch, took 54 into production and shipped over 3 million products and parts.
You talk in English directly with the project managers, engineers, quality, production and logistics people on your account. Engineering and tooling are quoted separately from the unit price, so you aren't tied to them, and the NPI service has no minimum order. "Reliable, creative, and with an eye for detail, difficult to match in China," says Carolina Ballon-Forrester of pet brand Kittyrama.
Agilian is a good fit for established brands and funded startups in North America and Europe that want one foreign-managed partner from DFM through pilot runs to mass production. If you only need a few machined prototypes, a prototype shop will be quicker and cheaper.
